A Celebration of Life for Cindy L. Pursel Update.


DANVILLE, PA ~ A Celebration of Life for Cindy L. Pursel, who passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2020 will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church 426 Sunbury Road Riverside PA at 3:00 with Pastor Greg Molter officiating. Relatives and friends will be received from 2:00 until 2:45 PM. The church is recommending masking.
Original Obituary with Celebration of Life update above: Cindy L. Pursel, 59, of Riverside, PA passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at her home. She was born March 6, 1961 in Danville PA, the daughter of the late James M. and Leona Ruth Foust Pursel.
Cindy graduated from Danville High School in 1979 where she played trumpet for the Danville Band. She was employed as a Medical Records Clerk at Geisinger Medical Center for over 20 years.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church in Riverside PA.
Cindy enjoyed bowling, playing cards and bingo, especially at Carnivals. She will be deeply missed and remembered by all that knew and loved her as a sensitive and caring person, sister and aunt. She lived her life with dignity and grace managing her health challenges without complaint and always accompanied by her sweet smile.
She is survived by two brothers; James A. Pursel and his wife Victoria of Riverside PA and Jeffrey Scott Pursel and his companion Karen Latsha of Riverside PA and two sisters; Carol J. Fry and her husband Ronnie of Riverside PA and Debra K. Wolfe and her husband Woody of Danville PA. She is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews; 24 great-nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Shoemaker who passed away September 8, 1995 and one great-nephew, Cody William Mordan.
