Betty Ann Day, 81, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021.
Betty Ann Day, 81, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville, PA. She was born September 7, 1940, in Bloomsburg, PA, the daughter of the late Cloyd and Sarah Ida Temple Chappell.
She was married to her loving husband, Wayne L. Day. They were married on June 30. They have lived in their current home in rural Danville for the last 47 years.
Betty was employed at Danville Silk Mill, Turbotville Dress Factory, Montgomery Mills, Sheraton and Joville before retiring in 1980.
Betty enjoyed flower, vegetable and herb gardening, cooking, quilting, canning, and sewing. She touched so many lives with her sweet, caring, and thoughtful presence. Most of all, she loved her family all of whom she adored. She was greatly loved by her family and will be deeply missed.
In addition to her husband, Betty is survived by two sons; Kenneth Day of Washingtonville; and Mike Day and his companion, Bonnie of Bloomsburg, PA and three daughters; Sara Day of Millville; Amy Tillinghast and her husband Jeff of Milton; and Beth Day of Bloomsburg. She is also survived by ten grandchildren: Joseph, Matthew, Megan, Luke, Leah, Jimmy, Josh, Emily, Anthony, and Rose as well as twelve great-grandchildren. Betty is also survived by one brother; Rick Mock and his wife Judy of Middleburg and one sister; Marian Gilbert of Delaware. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Betty was preceded in death by one daughter: Constance Duff in 2019 as well as two sisters and two brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 11:00AM, at Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia Hill Road, Danville, PA 17821.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in Betty’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
