Chester E. “Chet” Peterman, Jr., 69, of Williamsport, PA passed away Friday, August 6, 2021, at his residence. He was born April 25, 1952, in Muncy, PA the son of the late Chester E. Peterman, Sr. and Helen C. Heiges Fischer, who survives.
Chet graduated from Sugar Loaf High School in 1970 where he was valedictorian of his class.
He was employed as a chef at many area restaurants. He was also employed by Textron, Inc. and was an airplane engine inspector for Lycoming Engines, Inc. in Williamsport, PA from where he retired.
Chet was a lifetime member of the Republican League in Williamsport, PA
Chet was well known for his imaginative storytelling. He raised several champion Jack Russell/Parson Russell Terriers. Some of his greatest enjoyments in life were good food, good alcohol, and a good cigar. Many enjoyed his culinary delights, especially his crab cake and French onion soup. He was an avid reader and was a self-taught musician including banjo, guitar, and piano. An avid sports fan, he loved Penn State football, Green Bay Packers football, and Georgetown Hoya basketball.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his only child, Corinne H. “Cori” Peterman of Arlington, VA. He is also survived by three brothers, Donald Peterman (Angela), Jami Peterman (Billie Jo) and Billy Fischer (Michele); one sister, Penny Kurtz (Bruce) and one sister-in-law, Patricia Peterman. Also surviving are many beloved nephews including Andrew Peterman, Nathan “Nate” Peterman, David Kurtz, and Daryl Kurtz and one beloved niece, Mariah Gundersen. He is also survived by his friend and former wife, Corinne Weaver Lyons.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Stephen Peterman.
A Celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family. Details are above for the April 30, 2022 Celebration of life.
