Donald E. Everett, 79, of Danville PA, passed away February 15, 2022.


DANVILLE, PA ~ Donald E. Everett, 79, of Danville PA, passed away February 15, 2022, at Grandview Nursing Center and Rehabilitation Center Danville PA. He was born in Bloomsburg PA, the son of late Harold R. Everett and Gladys B. Walters Everett of rural Danville PA.
Donnie served his country in the United States Army for three years as a Military Policeman in Korea and Stateside.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Margaret “Margie” Swartz Everett. They were married March 8, 1964.
Donnie was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s (Straub’s) Lutheran Church, where, along with his wife Margie, was instrumental in most, if not all, of the fundraisers for the church. His other memberships included the East End Fire Company and the Friendship Fire Company.
Donnie enjoyed playing in the Danville Fast pitch and Slow pitch Softball Leagues for many years. He was an avid baseball fan of the New York Yankees as well as Penn State Football. In his senior years, he enjoyed the Silver Sneakers program at the Danville Area Community Center where he developed special friendships with the staff and program members.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four brothers: William Everett and wife Jody, Edward Everett and wife Marian, David Everett and wife Theresa and Allan Everett and wife Bonnie. He is also survived by two sisters: Connie Hess and Kathy Kline as well as 13 nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Ronald, in infancy, in 1942.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service to be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM t St. Paul’s (Straub’s) Lutheran Church 639 Frosty Valley Road Danville PA with Pastor Vicki Schaffner officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in the church cemetery where Military Rites will be accorded by the Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to the church or the Danville Area Community Center 1041 Liberty Street Danville PA 17821.
