Edith Ford Barnhart, 90, of Danville, Pennsylvania went to her eternal home on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. She was born August 10, 1931, in rural Elysburg PA, the daughter of the late Jesse and Bertha Reeder Ford.

She graduated from Ralpho Township High School in 1949.


She was preceded in death by her husband, John Barnhart of Danville PA on May 21, 1994. They were married November 20, 1954.


In her earlier years, Edith was employed by Regal Shirt Factory in Catawissa PA and later in the Danville High School Cafeteria.


She was a faithful member of Iron Mill Church in Danville PA where she served as a Children’s Sunday School Teacher for many years. Her life was full helping wherever she could at the church.


Edith was a dedicated homemaker and took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed traveling with her husband and sewing. Edith will be greatly missed for her phone calls which always began with, “I’ll just keep you for a minute and usually lasted from 26-28 minutes. Her absence in this world will be felt, but the richness with which she blessed the lives she touched will never fade.

She

is survived by two sons: Scott Barnhart of Catawissa PA and Wade Barnhart of Danville PA. Also surviving is her son-in-law, Jimmy Jackson of Williamsport; five grandchildren: Luke, Jarrad, Steffanie, Shandra and Tyler; three great-grandchildren: Jack, Braedon and Liam and one step great grandson, Rylahn. She is also survived by one sister: Audress Hinkle and her husband Ralph of Riverside PA;



She was preceded in death by her only daughter, Jaci Jackson of Williamsport PA on April 20, 2017, and two brothers: Amos Ford of California and Norman Ford of Elysburg Pa.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Edith’s Life to be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Iron Mill Church 2 Church Hill Road Danville PA with the Reverend Robert Barner officiating. Friends will be received from 1:00 PM until 1:45 PM at the church. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.


The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the church.
