Edward Deskie, 87, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022


DANVILE, PA ~ Edward Deskie, 87, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 15, 2022, at his residence. He was born December 14, 1934, in Catawissa, PA, the son of the late John and Anna (Steck) Deskie.
Ed was a hard worker since a young boy on many local farms in the area. In later years, he was employed as a painter for over 20 years with Claude Reinhart Painting in Pottstown PA, from where he retired.
He served his country in the United States Army.
He was married to the love of his life, the late Barbara Kamemcik Deskie for 51 years. They were married September 1, 1957.
He enjoyed flower gardening, baking, spending time outdoors, especially at Roaring Creek, traveling with his wife, playing the lottery and was an avid sports fan, especially watching the Little League World Series each year. He had a passion for fixing whatever he could fix and building anything he would think of. Ed will be remembered as a kind, selfless and giving person, always willing to help others whenever needed. A gentleman, Ed was a loving Dad and devoted caregiver to his late wife. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by three daughters: Andrea Deskie Williams of Maple Shade NJ; Beverly Ann Deskie and her companion Sean Poe of Danville PA and Christine Gallina and her husband Peter of Whitehall PA. Also surviving are six grandchildren: Anna Beth, Jacob, Jason, Jessica, Anna and Joey and two great-grandchildren: Aden and Logan as well as nieces and nephews. Also surviving is one sister, Helen Deskie of Danville PA.
Ed was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathan Williams; two brothers, John and Joseph Deskie, one sister, Theresa Deskie
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a walk-through visitation on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc., 42 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA 17821. Burial will be private at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg, PA.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to Geisinger Hospice 74 Schoolhouse Lane Suite 104 Danville PA 17821.
