Harry Wellington Cromis, 89,of Danville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 3, 2022
DANVILLE, PA ~ Harry Wellington Cromis, 89, of Danville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center Danville PA. He was born June 19, 1933, in Danville PA the son of the late Freeman L. and Arlie Clements Cromis.
Harry graduated from North- Mont Joint High School in Turbotville PA.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.
In earlier years, Harry was employed as a Foreman for the bridge crew with the construction of Route 80. Later, he was employed as a Foreman and as a Plant Manager for Kawneer in Bloomsburg for several years until October 25, 1978.
Harry was a member of the Danville-Mahoning Lodge #224 of Danville PA as well as the Bloomsburg Consistory.
He enjoyed camping with his family and spending time with them.
Harry will be remembered and greatly missed for being a true gentleman and for his soft-spoken and peacemaking spirit as well as his kindness to others.
Harry is survived by one son; Thomas W. Cromis and his wife Debra and one daughter; Debra L. Ayers and her husband Rich; both of Danville. He is also survived by two grandchildren: Jeramy Cromis and his fiancé Alecia Snyder of Danville and Miranda Kulesza and her husband Tim of Virginia as well as three great-grandchildren; Kiera, Addalyn, and Brynlee. Harry is also survived by two brothers: Freeman L. Cromis, Jr. of Milton PA and James Cromis and his wife Denise of Benton PA. Also surviving is one sister: Marilyn Taylor and her husband Donald of Danville PA, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Services and burial will be private at the Washingtonville Lutheran Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Washingtonville Volunteer Fire Company 121 Strawberry Ridge Road Danville PA 17821.
