Henry M. “Hank” Lanzer, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022


 

 

DANVILLE, PA ~ Henry M. “Hank” Lanzer, 84, passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. He was born on August 31, 1938, in Daleville, PA, the only child of the late Henry and Hilda Michaels Lanzer.


Hank graduated from Moscow High School in 1956.


He proudly served his country with honor in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1964.


Hank was married to his devoted wife, Janet Fox Lanzer, on July 15, 2006. They were married for 16 years and together for 26 years.


He was employed as a Pharmaceutical Sales Representative for Schering-Plough for over 30 years and from where he retired in 1999.


Hank enjoyed golfing, antiques, fishing and camping over the years. At one point, he had his own antique shop where he collected, appraised, and sold antique glassware and jewelry which was a of his passions that he enjoyed for many years. Hank always enjoyed a good meal with family and friends, whether going out for a good steak or preparing his famous seafood chowder.


His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as their grandpa and Pop Pop. He will be remembered for his generous and tender heart for family and friends as well as a man of conviction who loved to challenge us all with a good debate on many topics.


In addition to his adoring wife Janet, he is survived by one son, David M. Lanzer and his wife Barbi of Montoursville, PA; one stepson, Brian Bickhart and his wife Angela of Danville, PA; one stepdaughter, Sheri Burkland and her husband Keith or Riverside, PA; and by one son-in-law, Greg Spinello of Lewisburg, PA. Hank is also survived by nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.


In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by one daughter Cindy Lanzer Spinello whom he adored and missed every day since her passing in 2016, and by one great-granddaughter, Adelaide Applegate in 2021.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 2:00 pm, at Hendrickson United Methodist Church Cemetery, 380 Cameltown Hill Road, Danville, PA 17821, with Pastor Greg Molter officiating.


The family will provide flowers.
