Jack Arthur Walburn, 72, of Trevorton, PA passed away on December 31, 2021.


TREVORTON, PA ~ Jack Arthur Walburn, 72, of Trevorton, PA passed away on December 31, 2021. He was born March 14, 1949, in DuBois, PA the son of the late Frank Earl and Mary Kathryn Sunderlin Walburn of Grampian, PA.
Jack graduated from DuBois High School in 1967. Jack served his country with honor in the United States Air Force for four years and was honorably discharged in 1972. He attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated in 1976 with a degree in Microbiology.
He was employed as a Microbiologist for over 27 years with Bristol Meyers Squibb and Glaxo Smith Kline, from where he retired in 2010.
Jack will be remembered for his love of the outdoors, fly fishing, hunting, camping, and traveling. He was a honest man with a generous soul. Jack’s greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren Madison and Mia Ruehr, who called him “Pop Pop.”
He was preceded in death by his wife Marian Wingert Walburn, who passed away in 2003. He is survived by his companion and partner of 10 years, Gloria Swinehart.
Also surviving is his son Jeffrey Walburn and his fiancé Alex Valentin of Richmond, VA and his daughter, Megan Ann Ruehr and her husband Michael Ruehr of Media, PA. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Walburn and his wife Cheryl of Greencastle, PA and his sister JoAnn Ferringer of New Bethlehem, PA; his brother-in-law Daryl Seldomridge and sister-in-law Carol Seldomridge of Danville and his brother-in-law William Wingert and his wife Patricia Wingert of Philadelphia, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a walk-through Celebration of Jack’s Life to be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street, Danville, PA. Military rites will be accorded immediately following by the Danville American Legion Post 40 and the United States Air Force.
Burial will be held at the Morningside Cemetery in DuBois, PA at a later date.
