John Oliver Ranck, 75, of Danville, PA, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior.
John Oliver Ranck, 75, of Danville, PA, peacefully passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Evangelical Community Hospital in Lewisburg PA. He was born November 21, 1946, in Williamsport, PA; the son of the late James and Ruth Odell Ranck.
John is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Norah C. Ranck. They were married June 8, 1990. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons; John A. Ranck, Greg Ranck and Christopher King; and one daughter; Meredith King. He is also survived by three grandchildren; James Minarik, Connor Leek; and Elijah King. John is also survived by his siblings; Bob Ranck, Steve Ranck, Phoebe Eagleson, Becki Charles, Ginny Baker, and Tim Ranck as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one daughter; Kendra King and three brothers; Andy Ranck, Dennis Ranck and Dick Ranck.
He served his country with honor in the United States Army. John was proud to have served in Thailand during the Vietnam War as a Military Policeman.
He was employed as a mechanic with the New Jersey Department of Transportation from where he retired.
John was a member of First Baptist Church in Danville PA where he served as a sexton.
He was fond of animals. His greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed by them all.
John will be remembered for his big bear hugs and for being a kind, faithful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of John’s Life on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 11:00AM at First Baptist Church 12 Brookside Drive Danville PA (Off 642 East) with his pastor, the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions in his name may be made to First Baptist Church, Danville.
