John Wilson, 89, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 8, 2022.


 


 

DANVILLE, PA ~ John Wilson, 89, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 8, 2022, at his residence. He was born on May 10, 1932, in Nanticoke PA, the son of John T. Wilson and Alberta E. Decker Wilson.


John graduated from Dunellen High School in Dunellen NJ and from Rutgers University with a degree in Engineering and later from Xavier University with a master's degree in Business.


He and his devoted wife, Alice Steltz Wilson would have celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary on June 12th. They were married June 12, 1954.


John worked in the aerospace industry for over 20 years as an engineer before starting his own company in computer sales and medical billing programming, from where he retired.


He was a member of St. James (Ridgeville) United Church of Christ of Danville PA.


John enjoyed vegetable gardening and boating. He loved carpentry and thoroughly enjoyed building the home he and his wife lived in.


He will be remembered for being a good, honest man with a code of ethics that he taught his children and grandchildren. He had a generous soul, always willing to help when called upon by his friends and family. John was deeply devoted to his family. He cherished his wife, children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by them all.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons: Thomas Edward Wilson of Virginia Beach VA and Blaine Kenneth Wilson and his wife Stacy of Jacksonville FL and two daughters: Deborah Jean Wilson of Toronto, Ont. Canada and Lorelei Kay Wilson of Danville PA. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Alainka, Jason, Jacob, Benjamin and Emily as well as three great-grandchildren: Floyd, Malcolm and Arlo. He was preceded in death by one sister, Louise Wilson Cain and one daughter-in-law, Penni Wilson and one son-in-law, Jacques Marcil.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of John’s Life to be held on Friday, May 13th, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. James Ridgeville United Church of Christ, 1381 Bloom Road, Danville, PA, with the Reverend Michael Jarrett officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.
