Larry R. Warntz, 78, of Danville PA passed away on Monday, June 6, 2022, at his residence.


 

 

DANVILLE, PA ~ Larry R. Warntz, 78, of Danville PA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 6, 2022, at his residence. He was born October 17, 1943, in Sunbury PA the son of the late Claude and Constance Bohner Warntz.


He graduated from Danville High School in 1962.


Larry was employed at TRW and Textron Industries in Danville where he was a laborer and worked in the Maintenance Department.


He is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Margaret “Peggie” L. Fleck Warntz. They were married July 4, 1969.


Larry served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a lifetime member of the Elks, a member of the Danville Moose, Danville American Legion Post 40, former member of Danville VFW, as well as the East End and Washies Fire Company. He enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles and traveling with his family.


He will be remembered by many as an avid sports fan, especially Penn State. He also was a faithful fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Reds. Larry was a good man who loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his family and his two grand dogs, Finn and Carlie.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Lori Piekanski of Danville PA and her fiancé Craig Heintzelman and Lisa Bowersox and her husband Dwayne of Winfield PA. Also surviving are his two grandsons: Ryan Piekanski and Owen Bowersox.


He was a loving brother to three sisters: Connie Martin and her husband Russell of Northumberland PA; Gail Belmore of Danville PA and Kathy Beaver and her fiancé John Shultz of Northumberland PA.


A Celebration of Larry’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at Trinity United Methodist Church 84 Lombard Street Danville PA at 11:00 AM with the Reverend David Layser officiating. Friends will be received from 9:30-10:45am at the church. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery with full military rites accorded by the Danville American Legion Post 40 and the United States Army National Honor Guard.


The family will provide flowers. Memorial Contributions may be made to the East End Fire Company 954 Bloom Road Danville PA 17821.
