Libby E. Casnocha, 92, of Danville PA passed away peacefully on March 31, 2022, at her residence.


 


 

Libby E. Casnocha, 92, of Danville PA passed away peacefully on March 31, 2022, at her residence. She was born March 2, 1930, in Fairview NJ, the daughter of Martin and Antonia Seveika Zdenek.


She was married for 57 years to the late Joseph Casnocha who preceded her in death on February 3, 2010. They were married May 2, 1953.


Libby was employed as a Nursing Assistant for Mary Manning Walsh Nursing Home in Manhattan, New York.


She was a member of Most Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in Astoria, New York.


Libby enjoyed playing dominoes, gardening, cooking, and sewing. She will be remembered as a very social person with a very friendly and warmhearted demeanor towards anyone she came into contact with. Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by three daughters; Joan Bartone of New Hyde Park, New York; Linda Russo of Riverside, PA and Elizabeth Rathfon and her husband Daniel of Northumberland, PA. Also surviving are two granddaughters; Jessica Usefof and Stephanie Mackey as well as two grandsons; Samuel Lleras and Jameson Mackey. Libby is also survived two sisters: Maria Zdenek and Millie Pridavok and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be held Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church 68 Center Street Danville PA, with Father Timothy Marcoe as Celebrant. Friends will be received at Visneski Funeral Home, Inc. 42 West Mahoning Street Danville PA on Monday evening, April 4, 2022, from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Private burial will be held at St. Raymond’s Cemetery in Bronx NY.


The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718 or online at www.cancer.org or The Alzheimer’s Association online at www.alz.org or 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
