Marian L. May, 98, of Danville PA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 15, 2022.


DANVILLE, PA ~ Marian L. May, 98, of Danville PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Friday, April 15, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville PA. She was born August 26, 1923, in Shamokin PA, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary Vastine Williams.
Marian graduated from Shamokin High School in 1941.
She was married for 58 years to the late Richard K. May who preceded her in death on January 20, 2002. They were married August 20, 1943.
Marian was an exceptionally dedicated homemaker and took great pride in her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be greatly missed for her warm hospitality at family gatherings over the holidays and summertime corn roasts.
She was a member of St. Peter’s United Methodist Church where she served in the choir.
Marian thoroughly enjoyed attending numerous Bible studies with her friends.
Marian’s strong faith and her family were her foundation in life. She was a Proverbs 31 woman who was bold in her faith and had a great desire to live out her faith by raising all five of her children with Godly values and principles.
She is survived by four sons: R. Randolph May and his wife Karen of Danville PA, Pastor Carvel May and his wife Karen of Danville PA, Pastor Kim May and his wife Beverly of Liberty MO and Todd W. May and his wife Shawn of Breesport NY and one daughter, Linda L. Schmidt and her husband Ronald of Danville PA.
Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Rodney, Ted and Donald Williams.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Marian’s Life to be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 2:00 PM at St. Peter’s United Methodist Church 426 Sunbury Road in Riverside PA with Pastor Greg Molter officiating. Friends will be received from 12:00 – 1:45 PM at the church.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the Danville Area Community Foundation Neighbors Helping Neighbors Fund 725 West Front Street, Berwick, PA 18603.
