Mary Elizabeth Seidel, 86, of Danville, PA, entered into her Savior’s presence on Sunday, March 20, 2022, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. She was born April 8, 1935, in Syracuse NY, the daughter of the late Sidney D. Hooker.


Mary graduated from high school in Syracuse, New York.


She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Tarring Arthur Seidel whom she married May 14, 1956


Mary was an exceptionally dedicated homemaker to her family all throughout her life with special devotion and commitment to caregiving for her husband in recent years. Mary was a dedicated volunteer for the House of Care in Danville PA for over 30,000 hours.


She was a member of Sunbury Bible Church for over 30 years and loved volunteering with AWANA. She enjoyed gardening and enjoyed cooking meals for many of her friends, family and church members.


Mary will be remembered for her kind and selfless personality, generosity and great passion for her church and, most importantly, for God’s Word.


In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, Doug Seidel of Danville, PA and two daughters: Vonnie C. Campbell and her husband Don of Paxinos PA and Tina M. Songe and her husband Charles Anthony of Tequila, Mexico. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Kristin Merendino and her husband Ryan of Selinsgrove; Brett Campbell and his wife April of Sunbury PA; Jonathan Songe of Mechanicsburg PA; Heidi Deroche and her husband Justin and Renae Rodriguez and her husband Vladimir; all of Houma LA. Also surviving are eight great-grandchildren: Kianna, Joelle, Evelyn, Joshua, Kaylie, Evelyn, Elizabeth and Bryan.


Mary was preceded in death by one brother: Frederick Hooker and one sister Julia Ehrmann.


Relatives and friends are invited to a Celebration of Mary’s Life on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at 11:00AM at Sunbury Bible Church, 135 Spruce Hollow Road, Northumberland, PA, with Chris Barnes officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
