Mary L. Welliver, 87, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 18, 2022.


 

 

DANVILLE, PA ~ Mary L. Welliver, 87, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 18, 2022, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Danville, PA. She was born September 12, 1935, in Lock Haven, PA; the daughter of the late Joseph Ellsworth and Leotta (Herman) Litz.

Mary graduated from Danville Area High School in 1953.


She was employed in her earlier years at Bell Telephone then worked in the school cafeteria for six years and went on to work at Kennedy VanSaun, Danville, as a switch board operator for 33 years.


Mary was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ, Danville, PA.


Her greatest enjoyment in life was spending time with her family and friends.


She is survived by one daughter; Cathy Hickey and her husband Bob of Washingtonville and one brother; Lewis Litz and his wife Sue of Montoursville. Also surviving are three grandchildren; Marcie (Ali); Matthew (Kyle); and Michael and his fiancé Erin. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren: Ryleigh, Reagan, Tegan, Camden, and Maclin. Mary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.


She was preceded in death by four siblings: Miriam Wolverton, Joe Litz, Kathleen Ammerman and Jean Litz.


At Mary’s request, services will be private at the convenience of the family. Mary will be buried at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Danville.
