DANVILLE, PA ~ Reverend Bruce E. Brady, 63, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at his residence. He was born February 23, 1959, in Clay Center Kansas, the son of the late Harold Edward Brady and Vada Louise Clutter Smith of Northumberland PA
Bruce graduated from Lorain High School in Lorain Ohio in 1977 and from Bloomsburg University.
He was married for 42 years to the love of his life, Catherine Susanne “Sue” Brady.
They were married June 21, 1980.
Bruce was employed for Deitrich Dairy with a home delivery milk route. He was employed by the Union County Planning Commission. Bruce was an ordained minister. He pastored at the United Pentecostal Church of Bemidji in Bemidji MN for 7 ½ years and later worked in the Medical Records Department for Essentia Health in Brainerd MN.
He was a member of the Lewisburg Kiwanis.
Bruce’s greatest enjoyment in life was getting together with his family and friends and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors next to the peaceful water, trees, and wildlife. He will be remembered for his extreme intelligence, sense of humor and his love for the less fortunate than he. In addition to his family and friends, he treasured each moment with Jean-Pierre, his dog companion.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by his brother, Christopher Brady of Northumberland PA and his sister, Tammy Smith of Milton. He is also survived by his stepfather, Richard Smith of Northumberland PA He will be greatly missed by his three step-grandchildren: Javan Carl, Jacob Carl and Kaylee Melrose. Also surviving are two nephews and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his stepson, the Reverend Edward Alan Carl in July of 2022.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
