Robert Eugene Fetterman, 86, of Danville, PA, entered his new home with his Lord on October 20, 2022


DANVILLE ~ Robert Eugene Fetterman, 86, of Danville, PA, entered his new home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, October 20, 2022. He was born on June 29, 1936, in Bloomsburg PA, the son of the late Sterling J. and Ruth I. (Adams) Fetterman of Bloomsburg, Bob is the oldest of five boys.
After graduating from Bloomsburg High School, Bob proudly served in the United States Navy from 1954 – 1958, sailing on the aircraft carrier USS Tarawa (CVA/CVS 40). While on leave, he met Yvonne Lemon of Danville to whom he then married on August 30, 1958.
As a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Danville, he served faithfully as a Trustee and an assistant financial Secretary. He enjoyed being a part of the Sunday Morning Bible study and A.R.Ms.
Bob will always be remembered for his quick wit and a warm smile. His outgoing personality served him well in a career in sales, retiring in 1998.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by three brothers, Irvin, Carl, and Terry.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Yvonne (Lemon), son Robert J. Fetterman and his wife Debra of Pittsburgh, PA and two grandchildren: Kristofer R. Fetterman of Washington DC and Victoria M. Fetterman of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by one brother Edward J. Fetterman of Catawissa PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A special thank you to both the doctors of Geisinger and the staff of Emmanuel Nursing and Rehab Facility for the attentive care he received throughout the past 15 months. Your dedication and compassion are appreciated.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Bob’s Life to be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at First Baptist Church 12 Brookside Drive (off 642 East) with his pastor the Reverend Dawes J. Dunham officiating. Friends will be received from 09:45am-10:45am. A private burial will be held in Odd Fellows Cemetery Columbarium, Danville, PA. Military rites will be accorded by the Danville American Legion Post 40 Honor Guard and the United States Navy.
The family will provide flowers. Those wishing to remember Bob in a special way may donate to the memorial fund Missions at the First Baptist Church of Danville.
