Shelva J. Pursel, 84, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2022.
DANVILLE, PA ~ Shelva J. Pursel, 84, of Danville, PA, passed away peacefully as she went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 3, 2022, at Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Danville, PA She was born November 5, 1937 in Danville PA, the daughter of the late Millard and Susie Carl Stine.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years, Lester L. Pursel, on June 10, 1991.
In earlier years, she was employed by Roslyn Yarns in Danville. She later enjoyed caregiving for over 10 years.
A devoted homemaker to her family, she enjoyed baking and cooking. She was especially devoted to her grand dog, Abby, whom she loved dearly. She will be greatly missed for her servant heart, kindness, compassion and hospitality shown to many of those who crossed her path.
Shelva was faithful to the Assembly of God churches in the area throughout her life. She will be warmly remembered for her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and the desire to live out her faith. She treasured her children, who fondly refer to her as the” best mother ever”.
She is survived by two daughters: Lucy Mausteller and her husband David of Danville PA and Sheila Sauers and her husband Scottie of Dauphin PA. She is also survived by one brother, Charles Stine of Lightstreet PA and two sisters: Shirley Stigerwalt and her husband Barry of Alaska and Joyce Neitz and her husband Martin of Danville PA. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Shelva’s Life to be held on Friday, October 7, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Danville Assembly of God 734 6th Street Danville PA with Pastor William Conrad officiating. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM at the church.
The family will provide flowers. Memorial contributions may be made to the church at PO Box 308 Riverside PA 17868.
